K BBQ is something I haven't tried yet. My preference when going out is to have someone else cook my food!
I have been wondering about when you mention a place is pricey or not so pricey...what does that mean? How pricey is pricey? You might consider explaining that to your readers, i.e. me as well as others.
Haha! I understand your sentiment, but it's so fun to grill your own stuff at the table! And thank you, I have a lot of fun writing these!!
Hmmmmm... I feel that not so pricey for THIS particular dish is in the 5 dollar range/plate of meat, while pricey is going up to maybe 12-15 dollars/dish of meat. But mostly it's relative. Like, I've been to so many places that I have a pretty good idea of what any particular dish is worth for a very good meal. For example, yesterday I went to a nem nuong place (like a roll-your-own rice paper wrap situation) and it was 75K for a platter!! That's exorbitant, and the platter didn't even come with a lot of standard things like pickled carrots and daikon. That kind of thing should not be more than 55/60k vnd, and because it was not including a lot of good stuff, should be even cheaper. But honestly, it's all relative. Things are hard to judge on a scale, especially when the Dong is kind of weak against the dollar, but I think it mostly comes down to are you getting a good meal for a price that's competitive in the market? At this point I feel confident making that call if a place is competitive or not, while taking into account the quality and quantity of the meal.
