Ben, what are my chances of finding anything even close to authentic here in the states? Ruth and I share a desire to try authentic foods along with another couple and we're always looking for plaaces to try.

That’s a great question! I honestly don’t know! When I come home I tend not to eat vnese. But I know there are lots and lots of Vietnamese people and therefore restaurants in the US. I’d rely on google maps.

oh so great! For rural province there sure is a lot of interesting food to check out - will have give those places a try!

Saigoneer recently went to a Gia Lai spot for their stinky crab noodles. The noodles are TOO STINKY for me, however, their bun thit nuong is very good (but more saigon style than the one you found), but the real standout is the goi cuon. Central and central-highland style it features the roast pork from bun thit nuong and a fantastic peanut sauce. I have gone back since for those alone
