This past Monday I went to the new Taco Leo’s on Do Quang Dau in D1, PNL Ward.
I was the ONLY customer and it took 25 minutes to get my cold burrito. I thought they were supposed to be served warm-to-hot, but I could be wrong. No way I’m going there again.
Taco Leo’s is SO TERRIBLE!! The only good thing about it is that they make pretty good churros but that’s IT. I’ve been twice because I though the first experience might be a fluke, but never again.
Found a Mexican street taco shop on Sunday that had a great selection of tasty soft taco options. Only Corona and Tiger for beer, so they do need to work on that.
Monito’s Taqueria, 26 Đỗ Quang Đẩu, P. Phạm Ngũ Lão, Q1, just to the left of the Green Star Hotel. I even tried Lengua for the first time.
Good one! As I live the majority of my life in the united states I have no need to seek tacos abroad but it’s comforting to know there are these joints in hcmc
The tacos used to be few and far between but things are looking up these days! Now we just need to get a new Ethiopian joint (our only one closed during COVID, hu hu)... Then my comfort food life will be returned to the natural order

You’re the second person to recommend this to me, and I didn’t even know it existed! How was the Lengua? I’ve never tried it before.
Once was enough for lengua. Based on the other tacos I had, it’s not because it was cooked improperly. I’ll stick with my woman’s -- live and active.
Vietnamese tacos! I never gave it a thought. I'm sure they are much more creative than what we enjoy on the other side of the globe!
Recently tried a place called Monito's - the flavor was really good but it lost some crunch in the delivery process. Probably better in person!
Ohhhhh a new option out there?! I'll have to try, thanks for the heads up! What kinds did you get?
beef birria is what I remember!
