Lots of people need a space outside of the house to get work done, either because your abode doesn’t have reliable wifi (raises hand) or simply need a different environment to get anything done (raises both hands, with feeling, amen).
Fortunately, this is a city full of cafes serving up reliable wifi, a quiet atmosphere, and a lot of outlets to plug your electronic gizmos into - all in addition to drinks and snacks, of course.
In a lot of cases you can get your coworking done from any cafe, which is certainly an option if you’re not picky. These are not 24 hour cafes (which I’ll cover in a future post) but they are great for a change of scenery and a brain refresher for those looking to hunker down and work. For some more modern options, check out my previous post.
WorkFlow Space Hai Bà Trưng
Hours: 7am-10pm

This space features a couple levels, and the first floor (as opposed to ground floor, my western friends) is subscription-only with several more amenities available. The ground floor is comfortable enough and silence is the rule. Baristas are attentive and came around several times to refill your water. There’s also some generous parking outside.
There are conference rooms available for reserving, as well as single-person pod-things that people can rent by the hour if you’re in need of a space to take a call. Drinks are pretty good, although a bit expensive, and the environment is very neat and modern.
SHIN Heritage
Hours: 7:30am-6:30pm
Address: 27 Đ. Lưu Văn Lang, Phường Bến Thành, Quận 1

If you and your productivity are powered by coffee, specifically, this is one of the better spots to visit. They feature beans from all over Vietnam (you can see a few on the map below) and their baristas do a very professional job making sure you know what you’re getting and why it’s unique.
The space is a little cozy, but if you’re not a fan of bright lights this is a good place to put on those headphones and try a few new brews. As coffee is one of Vietnam’s best exports to the world, you’re sure to find a blend you like here.
Le Blanc.Coffee & Space
Hours: 7am-10pm
Address: 83 Tân Vĩnh, Ward 6, Quận 4

One of my staple go-to cafes in District 4 (which does NOT feature much in the way of high-quality cafes, it must be said) is Le Blanc which is on a fairly quiet corner and is very slick and stylish. All the times I’ve visited it’s been pretty lightly trafficked, but my understanding is that there’s a first floor for people willing to pony up a bit of extra cash for some more intensive work sessions.
If you’re in need of some fresh air, this is also the only cafe on today’s list that also has some sidewalk seating available, which is particularly enjoyable in the morning. They also brew a mean cup of coffee, which is always a plus.
All three of these are ideal spots to sidle up to some work and give it some healthy attention without having to worry about incessant pop music, loud talking, or other distractions. Where do you get your work done? Recommendations appreciated!
Now go and be productive!
